wp-block-cover-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-narrow-wider\">NKUA Breaks into the Top 200 Global Universities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-style-narrow-wider\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">NKUA has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first Greek university to rank among the top 200 universities in the world in a global university ranking system that evaluates multiple criteria.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, published on January 28, 2021, NKUA ranks 180th globally among 12,000 universities. Notably, the university climbed 53 places compared to the previous year (from 233rd to 180th).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Additionally, NKUA ranks 49th among 3,262 European Union universities included in the ranking.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the results of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, following the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UoA), the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki ranks 205th, the National Technical University of Athens ranks 329th, and the top five are completed by the University of Patras at 533rd and the University of Ioannina at 581st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This ranking includes approximately 12,000 universities worldwide out of the 30,000 for which data was collected. Among these are Greek universities and private institutions (see Table 1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, on January 26, 2022, the results of the \u201cTop Universities by Top Google Scholar Citations\u201d ranking by Webometrics were announced. According to this announcement and the results of recent years, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UoA) achieved a rare distinction for a Greek university, ranking in the Top 100 of a global ranking for the fifth consecutive year. Based on the results announced by Webometrics, in this ranking, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is positioned:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1st place among Greek universities<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2nd place among Mediterranean universities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>18th place in Europe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>92nd place globally among 7,497
